Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to connect my bank?

Yes. Connections use PSD2, the same European rules every bank follows, which apply in Greece under Law 4537/2018. You approve read-only access inside your bank, and you can revoke it whenever you like.

Can $umm make payments?

No. Access is read-only. Payments and transfers are made only by you, in your bank.

Do you see my bank passwords?

No. You type them only on your bank's own page, just like in e-banking.

Which banks are supported?

National Bank of Greece, Piraeus Bank, Eurobank, Alpha Bank, Optima, CrediaBank, Viva and Revolut. More will follow, including the Cypriot banks.

What do you do with my data?

We use it only to show you your finances inside the app. You can disconnect a bank, or delete your account and its data, whenever you want.

How does $umm use AI?

To sort your transactions into categories and to answer questions about your spending. The assistant works only with your own data, always tells you it's AI and doesn't give investment advice. We don't use your data to train AI models.

How do I disconnect a bank?

With one tap, in the app or in your e-banking.

Will I need to reconnect my bank?

Every 180 days, as the rules require. We'll remind you before access expires.

How much will it cost?

$umm will have one simple monthly subscription, with the first month free. There will also be a yearly plan, a plan for couples and families, and discounted plans, for example for students. We'll announce final prices before the public release.

When will it be available?

$umm is coming soon to iOS and Android, first in Greece and then in Cyprus.

Will it work in Cyprus?

Yes. We start in Greece and Cyprus follows, together with the Cypriot banks.

Short guides to smarter money.

  • Security2 min

What open banking is, and why it's safe

    Read

The EU's PSD2 directive lets licensed providers read your balances and transactions, only with your approval given inside your bank. You never hand your passwords to a third party, your approval expires on its own and you can revoke it whenever you like. These providers are supervised like banks and listed in a public register.

  • Subscriptions2 min

Forgotten subscriptions cost more than you think

    Read

A €9.99 monthly subscription is almost €120 a year. Go through the last three months of transactions and note everything that repeats. Anything you didn't use last month, ask yourself if you need it. Watch the yearly charges too: they're the easiest to forget.

  • Budgeting2 min

The 50/30/20 rule, with real numbers

    Read

Split your take-home pay three ways: 50% for essentials (rent, bills, groceries), 30% for wants and 20% for savings or debt. On €1,200 a month that's €600, €360 and €240. It's a starting point, not a law: if rent alone takes half your pay, start with the 20% and adjust the rest.
